I havnt updated in awhile. Sorry, I know yall were suffering. Get ready for some angst here..
For the next year I'm at Henry Ford Hospital as part of my final year student rotation thingies. So far its been fun but also nerve shaking, stressful, and detrimental to my sleep cycle. I guess I'm just figured that by now I would be more confidant than I am. I miss wearing jeans too.
I dont know why I bother to lose weight, it requires a caloric restriction that while tolerable last summer is impossible to endure during the school year and especially now in the hospital. I hate it. Dont get me wrong, I'm not complaining that Im fat or ugly or what ever, but I'm aware I'm above what would be considered my ideal weight. I lost somewhere around 16-17lbs last summer..that I have since gained back like 8 of it. I guess I'm just sick of the continual Sisyphus dance I have to do while others girls remain slender by genetics.
I'm also bummed over not seeing any of my old friends. I'm a friggan bridesmaid to bridget who I havnt seen in months. At the same time I know I'm busy, and they're busy and everyons moving on with their adult lives and what not.
I'm sick of not having a social life lately. I want to have fun again.
My brother and I made beer. One more week till its done.

And then I saw the commercial for this, and who was the starring actress. Oh my.

Ruy Diaz entered Burgos with his company of sixty knights. Men and women came to see him pass, while the burghers and their wives stood at their windows sorrowfully weeping. With one accord they all said, " what a good vassal. If only he had a good lord!"

"Listen, you might want to pack a few of your things together before you go to bed. The former bishop from Turkey will be coming along with six to eight black men. They might put some candy in your shoes, they might stuff you in a sack and take you to Spain, or they might just pretend to kick you. We don't know for sure, but we want you to be prepared."

The following Christmas carols should be banned from radio air time. I'm so sick of them, and listening to every pop artist version of them. There are so many better Christmas carols that no one sings.
Frosty the Snowman Rudolf the Red Nose reigndeer Little God damn Drummer Boy Silent Night ( I actually like this one, its just been ruined for me) I saw my tart of a mommy kissing Santa Claus Silver Bells
Don't get me wrong, these songs are bad. When done by children, or for example Nat King Cole, these songs are delightful. I just don't need to hear Jessica Simpson's interpretation of these melodies.
The following are Christmas Songs, that I heard growing up, that I find very enjoyable, yet I never hear except from my own itunes.
God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen ( aalllll of the verses folks. Not just the one we all know) Bring a touch, Jeannete Isabella ( one of my favorites) Break forth oh beauteous and heavenly Light In Duli Jubilo We Three Kings The Coventry Carol
Ok I'm done ranting. Sorry.

Dave sent this to me and I nearly sprayed milk from my nose as I read it. After this past summer, I can totally see what pushed him over the edge.
Bad day in the lab.
That must be what poor Julie feels like all the time.

In the spirit of the holiday I have some fun facts about blood:
There is a medical condition known as congenital erythropoietic porphyria. It's a genetic disorder related to the production of the molecule Heme in your body. Heme is essential in the protein Hemoglobin found in blood. People with this genetic disorder have the following characteristics:
Red Urin Red stained looking teeth Disfigurement Excessive hair growth
The trade mark symptom of this disorder is an extreme photosensitivity, forcing the inflicted to be nocturnal.
Does this sound like like any sort of monster we know of?...hmmmmmm
Creepy thing is the old recommended treatment for this condition was the consupmtion of blood.

So heres the thing with caffeine.
Its sort of a neat drug. Its the only FDA approved treatment for fatigue, Aaaaand its a diuretic. Its my favorite study aid. The only issue is that I sort of have to titrate my does of caffeine. Otherwise I'm either too tired, or I end up inducing a case of ADHD in myself. And when I choose to rest I lay in my bed, with the strange sensation that my body is still humming and vibrating with the coffee induced energy. Yar Pharmacology.

This is how I felt last week.
This week is going much better. And as bad as last week was I can say I did well on the exam and I won the undergraduate research presentation. ( woo). I'm gonna cross my fingers for the next to semesters. I think they're gonna suck.
On a lighter note I got Medieval Total War II. So I can vent my anger on some pixilated country.
By the way 10 points if you name the movie without googling.

I've been feeling very Charlotte Vale lately...you know..before she meets Dr, Jaquith.
Anyways, I have brought it upon my self to share the ending to a great piece of english fiction for you. A piece of fiction about a orphaned boy and his journy to grow up in an enchanting world vastly different than the one he knows.
Spoiler:
The Convict and not Ms Havisham is Pip's secret benefactor!
I sort of liked Great Expectations despite the redundancy at times. Oh I also bought the new harry potter book today.
WARNING:
If you any of you ruin the ending for me...I swear on the skulls of your forgotten ancestors that the rest of your pathetic days will be painful and long. My furry will take form and descend upon you like a malstrom swiftly and violently. Each night you will pray that the Gods on high will steal away your last breath and let you descend into the peaceful embrace of death, at last escaping my most terrible torments.
